Can. 1394 §1. Without prejudice to the prescripts of cann. 194 §1, n. 3 and 694 §1, n. 2, a cleric who attempts marriage, even if only civilly, incurs a latae sententiae suspension; but if he does not repent after being warned and continues to give scandal, he must be punished gradually by privations or even by dismissal from the clerical state.

Can. 1394 §2. A religious in perpetual vows who is not a cleric and who attempts marriage, even if only civilly, incurs a latae sententiae interdict, without prejudice to the prescript of can. 694 §1, n. 2.
